The birth of a baby is typically one of the most exciting events in the life of a family. Calvary shares in the excitement by sharing the good news in publications, delivering a “baby gift bag” and by presenting the baby a Baby’s First Bible when a pastoral visit is made.
Child Dedications
In the Baptist tradition, Calvary reserves baptism as a statement of faith for those who have professed personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior. Therefore, the church does not baptize infants. Instead, young children are dedicated to God’s purpose in a special liturgy led by the pastor during one of the morning worship services and receive a hand knit dedication blanket as a gift from Calvary Baptist Church’s Knitting Group. These are meaningful times of worship for the congregation and the family.
