Calvary, I Need Your Help!

Happy May Calvary!
Matt and I have been in Denver a little over a month. Many people have asked how I'm adjusting, and I'm happy to say I'm finally getting the hang of things!  This is the first time I've been both a communications director AND a pastor. It is my dream job, but Sunday mornings present a small problem for me.

A huge part of communications at a church is capturing what's going on there and showing the world. As one of the pastors who is actively participating on Sunday mornings, I don't have much time to stop and take photographs. And I really, really need them! Updated photographs keep our website fresh, our social media active, and our soon-to-be-arriving announcement slideshow relevant.

One way you can help me and Calvary's communications ministry is sending me your photos of Calvary taken with your smartphone! As much as it pains me to say this, (as someone who uses an awesome Nikon camera) smartphone cameras are extremely convenient. Why? Because you almost always have it on you. And thanks to technology, the cameras on those phones are only getting better. So even if you think you can't take a proper photo, you can hold your phone still, focus it, and snap a picture. (And if you need some tips- feel free to ask me!)

If you happen to remember, take a picture of Calvary in action (without distracting yourself from your worship experience, of course). Take a picture during a hymn. Take a picture during your Sunday school class or a social event. Then send it to ahornernelson@calvarydenver.org! And just like that, you have contributed to the communications ministry at Calvary!
