Get to Know Your Deacons part 1

Introduction: Over the next few months, we’d like to share a bit of information so you can get to know your Calvary deacons.  Please take a few minutes to learn what work they are doing on your behalf, how to reach them and an interesting or surprising fun fact!

Vision and Discernment Deacon:

Kevin Jonell (kejonell@gmail.com)

Kevin leads Calvary’s vision and discernment efforts - to facilitate remembering our past, appreciating our present and visioning our future. As he stated at the Annual Gathering, 2026 will include intentional work to consider our vision, mission, values and name. Kevin welcomes your involvement in this important effort!

Fun fact: Kevin was born in Sweden and came to US at age 7.

Connecting Gifts with Needs Deacon:

Jasmine Tesfazion (jasmineelyse94@gmail.com)

Jasmine’s role is to continue to identify Calvary’s volunteer or service needs and to match those with Calvary family members’ gifts. She maintains our volunteer database and extends invitations to people to serve. If you would like to complete or update our Needs-Gifts survey, please reach out to Jasmine.

Fun fact: Jasmine enjoys yoga.

Beth shares her wealth of knowledge and experience to support Calvary staff. She is very involved in all things human resources to ensure adequate staffing and staff well-being. If you have questions or suggestions regarding this area, please reach out to Beth.

Fun fact: Beth played viola in 4 orchestras in high school.
