STAFF RELATIONS NEWS November 4, 2026 Ru-Lee Weller Passman Hello, Calvary! As you know from previous communications, earlier this year our Church Accountant left after many years of service, and then at the end of September, our recently-hired Church Business Administrator (CBA) moved on as well. To begin to fill this gap, our first priority is hiring a part-time accountant or accounting firm. Meanwhile, we are assessing our CBA job description and recruitment process to incorporate lessons learned from the past few months. Recruitment for the CBA position will be deferred until after the holidays. Also during this interim period, Pastor Anne has once again assumed a number of administrative duties previously assigned to the CBA position. HOWEVER (drum roll, please!), Pastor Ian Cummins has agreed to take on a role supervising the administrative functions at Calvary on an interim basis! Ian has been working at Calvary 20 hours a week, where he supports three areas: staff development, worship leadership, and individual projects assigned by Pastor Anne. In this new role, Ian will move to 30 hours a week, continue to support staff development, lead worship (including preaching about once a month), and—working closely with staff members Ye Ye Wong (bookkeeping), Cindy Schall (administration), and Chad Lawrence (facilities and operations)—take on the following responsibilities: • provide oversight of 2027 Budget Planning, church office and accounting office operations, and facilities projects and operations • work with the Accountant and Treasurer on year-end financials for the congregational meeting, and • work with Staff Relations on evolving the CBA role “As a Senior Pastor, I engaged the business needs of the church from a more general perspective,” Ian said. “Getting into the day-to-day functions will be an area of growth for me, but one I’m excited about.” Ian brings years of ministry experience, an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and natural gifts for working with others to move projects forward. As Pastor Anne put it, “Ian is forward-looking, efficient, and keenly aware of the ‘big picture’ needs of Calvary. He also values building relationships and strengthening community. This shift in Ian’s role is a great fit for Calvary right now.” Join us in welcoming Ian into this new role! --Beth Dickinson Staff Relations Deacon
