World Mission Offering 2025

October 7, 2025 Morgan Fletcher

Dear Calvary family and friends,

Throughout the month of October, we are receiving the American Baptist International Ministries’ World Mission Offering (WMO). Through the WMO, we join with other congregations to celebrate and support the ministries that God is using to transform the world through International Ministries’ 120+ global servants and 250+ international partners in 70 countries.

This year’s World Mission Offering theme is “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” Executive Director of IM, Sharon Koh, writes, “In this rhetorical question, the Lord is not questioning whether or not God is doing a new thing. God is questioning whether we perceive or notice it.”

With that same spirit, the Global Servants of International Ministries are seeing new ways to serve and share the gospel in their ministries. International Ministries has maintained long-term partnerships, demonstrating God’s faithfulness. For more than 200 years, International Ministries (IM) has combined resilience, adaptability, and creative approaches to cross-cultural ministry as Global Servants work together with and learn from their many local partners in ministry around the globe.

Calvary, this year your gifts to the WMO will be given to the Global Servants our church supports:

  • Barbara & Dwight Bolick (Chile) are regional consultants, serving in multiple leadership and training roles. Barb manages and directs the Talita Cumi Girls’ Clubs (TCGC) focusing her ministry on girls’ discipleship and education. TCGC, along with partners in Latin America, provide mentor training, materials, and ongoing support. Dwight works with partners in the Continental Christian Network for Peace (RECONPAZ) to train others in beekeeping and rainwater harvesting, install model systems, and encourage the use of this water-collection method to address the severe water crises in Central America and Cuba.
  • David & Joyce Reed serve as Global Coordinators for Spiritual Care for field personnel. Building on 20 years of ministry in Mexico and service as regional consultants in Iberoamerica & the Caribbean, the Reeds cultivate a culture of health in which IM global personnel & home office staff can thrive and be effective in ministry. They offer spiritual guidance, support & presence; provide workshops & retreats on self-care, soul care, & community care practices; research and find resources to support spiritual growth and health; walk with colleagues through significant times of transition, transformation, grief & loss; and mentor global servants during their first years on the field.

Please join me in giving generously to the World Mission Offering throughout October as, together, we enable these IM global servants to experience and share God’s love. You may give online at calvarydenver.org/give (choose the Mission Offering selection).

With gratitude for all of our IM global servants and with gratitude for your generosity Calvary,

Rev. Anne J. Scalfaro, Senior Pastor
