When We Remember Our Beginning September 17, 2023 — September 17, 2023 Sixteenth Sunday after Pentecost Rev. Morgan C. Fletcher This sermon reminds us that what it means to be well is to root ourselves in the very goodness of our origin story, reminding ourselves that whatever I do to you I do to the image of God. For that is how each of us are made. So when we might struggle with somebody maybe the empathetic act of reminding ourselves that they are the image of God allows us to be more tender, allows us to say we want God to be well and so we shall care for them because they are divine. We shall boldly proclaim this as our birthright, not to be earned, but to be lived from and each and every moment. Scripture: Genesis 1:26 - 31
