• Genesis 32:28: “Then the man said, ‘You shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel, for you have striven with God and with humans and have prevailed.’” (could be explained in the context of the entire passage Genesis 32:22-32) 

• Ecclesiastes 3:1: “For everything there is a season and a time for every matter under heaven.” 

Vision & Discernment: 

• Isaiah 43:19: “See I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up, do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness.” 

Connecting Gifts with Needs: 

• 1 Peter 4:10: “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” 

Formation & Engagement: 

• Micah 6:8: “He has told you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you but to do justice and love kindness and to walk humbly with your God.”

• Romans 12: 3-13: ”For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of yourself more highly than you ought to think but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. For as in one body we have many members and not all the members have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually we are members one of another. We have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us: prophecy, in proportion to faith; ministry, in ministering; the teacher, in teaching; the encourager, in encouragement; the giver, in sincerity; the leader, in diligence; the compassionate, in cheerfulness. Let love be genuine; hate what is evil; hold fast to what is good; love one another with mutual affection; outdo one another in showing honor. Do not lag in zeal; be ardent in spirit; serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; persevere in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the saints; pursue hospitality to strangers.”
