October 19, 2018
Our "yes, and..." theme for October and November is “yes, your story is important, and you can learn from everyone’s story.” Every Friday during our Stewardship season, we will be telling the story of one area of ministry of the church. This week we're highlighting the properties and grounds leaders, Tim and Leigh Bessey (shown here with their daughter Erin).
Tim and Leigh, tell us about yourself.
We are both retired and happily enjoying being grandparents. We have been members of Calvary for 39 years. We taught Middle School Church School for 15 years and had the pleasure of teaching some incredible youth at Calvary. Calvary has a special place in our hearts, we were married there, our daughter was dedicated and Baptized there and our granddaughter is the next generation to be a part of Calvary.
What is your title and role with the Properties team at Calvary?
We are co-Property Chairs. We oversee the inside and outside repairs at Calvary. Tim handles repairs and if he needs assistances he calls on other members for help. I coordinate Work Day. We were offered the opportunity to join the Resource Management Committee and accepted the position.
What motivated you to help out with this particular ministry?
It wasn't necessarily the desire to work in resource management but the desire to volunteer and help our church. We feel that as important as it is to come to church and repair our souls, its also important to maintain our beautiful church.
If folks aren't physically able to help out on church work days, what can they do to help?
If members are unable to help out at Work Day they can always call us (303-919-1128). There are plenty of things to do at Calvary and we can keep them busy. Join us this Saturday from 9:00 to 11:00 for coffee, donuts and cleaning. Sounds like a great way to spend a Saturday Morning!
